Room was clean if a little dated. Bathroom would benefit from be refreshed. Brief stay as attending a wedding. The bar looked nice when checking in and out, although did not use when here. Fine for a quick stay but if looking for something a bit nicer I would advise going elsewhere.
The two young ladies on the bar at lunchtime were happy and cheerful as they attended to their customers. The outside eating space must boast one of the best views in Banchory. The toilets were spotless.

Amazing! We visited with our dogs for lunch May bank holiday Saturday. We were given the Royal treatment, our dogs were made so welcome and were served iced water and biscuits. Our lunch was fabulous, the fish was beautiful and the atmosphere was so relaxed. Staff were lovely and so friendly. We will certainly visit again. There should be more place like this where you can take your dogs. 10 out of 10
A very large sprawling building on the main street. The ground floor is built on different levels so it is not very wheelchair friendly, especially the toilet facilities where the steps (only about 5) have no grab rail on the wall. The menu is varied and all the meals are freshly cooked. The chef is a master of his craft.

I have recently had the pleasure to stay at this hotel for a few days. The place was very comfortable and the food was very much to my taste. The daily smoked haddock for breakfast served by Karen was a special treat. Sadly it was her day off on the day of my departure so I could never thank her personally which I do now. Thank you Karen.
Lovely hotel on the outskirts of Banchory. Very helpful staff and although the lift was not in use the staff were very helpful with our luggage. The only detrimental comment I would make is the £10 corkage if you dare to drink your own wine in the privacy of your bedroom and £2.50 charge if you eat the Mars bar supplied in your room snacks.

Great week with Mrs Holmes. Very warm and welcoming. Definitely would return. Fantastic breakfast.
Geschäftstüchtige ältere Dame, Zahlweise nur in bar obwohl Kartenlesegerät vorhanden, eher drei Sterne als vier! Preis daher nicht angemessen. Privater Parkplatz. 80 GP für zwei durchnäßte Biker.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
